What a Weird Animal!

I think platypuses are the most interesting animal in the world. They have a ducks bill and feet, fur like a mammal, they swim under water, live in Australia and they're venomous! Talk about crazy! The first person to see a platypus thought some one had glued different parts of other animals together. Scientists found out later that the platypus is real, they even later classified it as mammal. Platypuses live in eastern Australia and Tasmania in small streams and ponds. At mateing season males produce venom spurs on thier left hind leg, they use to fight for females in male-to-male combat. Platypuses are distant relitives to cats which is interesting because cats don't like water and playpuses can hardly live without water. Everthing is interesting about platypuses though! That's why I'm totally obsessed with them!

Very interesting information! I wonder if there's a zoo in New England that might have a platypus that I could go look at? Keep up the good research!
